The Mineola Country Club Ladies Golf Association hosted its annual Couple’s Scramble Tournament July 11-12.

A portion of the proceeds was donated to the Wood County Rainbow Room. This organization supports children who have been taken out of their homes by providing basic emergency needs. The Rainbow Room does not receive state funds and relies solely on donations.

A check for $1,000 will be presented this week.

The tournament was an overwhelming success with 30-plus teams from Mineola, Kemp, Holly Lake, Metroplex, Troup and surrounding areas.

Linda Strain, participant, commented, “The course is beautiful. Hope to see y’all next year.”

LGA Tournament Director Tina Carroll gives a special thanks to all participants and to everyone who donated their time, money and door prizes, Kelly B’s for a wonderful meal and the MCC staff and ground crew for the extra work on the course.”

Dana Oatley, LGA president, stated, “This tournament helps raise money for a very deserving cause. We look forward every year to reuniting with past participants and welcoming new teams.”
