Cox family releases statement on health issues

The family of Jodi Cox, who recently ran for Wood County district attorney, has released a statement concerning medical issues that occurred prior to the March 3 Republican primary.

Her husband Matt wrote: “On Friday, Feb. 21 Jodi did have a massive stroke. The family kept the information to a minimum due to the uncertainty of the situation. Jodi is now in rehab getting the care she needs. Jodi has a long road to recovery and continues to need prayers. She is strong and there is no doubt that she is a fighter and will get through this. Please respect Jodi and her family’s privacy by not asking personal detailed questions. Updates will be made by Jodi’s family, but many of the details will be left for Jodi to tell when she is ready.”

The primary was won by appointee Angela Albers for the remaining two years of an unexpired term. Albers was appointed to the position last year after the resignation of Jim Wheeler.

She has no opposition in the Nov. 3 general election.
