Coy Rogers, 1935-2020

Coy Rogers, 84, of Lindale, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2020 at his home. He was born on Nov. 7, 1935 in Dallas to the late Benjamin Rogers and Annie Mae Baccus Rogers. He was a sergeant in the Army during the Vietnam War and was a retired sheet metal shop foreman.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Rogers, and daughters, Kathy and Janice. He is survived by sons, Sammy Rogers of San Marcos and Mark Rogers of Dallas; brothers, Troy, Raymond, Ben, Jimmy and Roy; sisters, Zella, Doris and Sheila; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, May 8, 2020 from 5-7 p.m. at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola. Services were held on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Beaty Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with Christopher Newsome conducting. Interment followed at Roselawn Memorial Garden in Mineola.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
