Curry honored by Pilots
Joyce Curry was honored for 40 years of service to the Texas Anchor District at the recent Texas Pilot District convention in San Marcos. She organized and presided over the first Anchor Texas District (state) convention 40 years ago which was held in San Antonio in 1983.
Prior to that time Joyce organized the Mineola Anchor Club in 1978. Anchor is an international youth service organization sponsored by Pilot International. The MHS Anchor Club has won many state and international awards, including International Advisor, Janell Abbott. Texas Pilot Governor Scottie Beth Baker of Gonzales presented the award.
The Mineola Pilot Club won three first place awards at the convention in BrainMinders, Safety & Security and Patriotism. Also attending from the Mineola Pilot Club was Barbara Schmidt.
