David Thomas, 1953-2020

David Thomas, 67, of Mineola passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2020 in Quitman. He was born on March 3, 1953 in Mineola to the late Earl Thomas and Hester Wren Thomas. He was retired from the oil field and was a member of Silverlake Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by parents; brother, Jimmy Thomas; sisters, Betty Johnson, Frances Coleman, Nancy Tate, Grace Asbury, Patsy Hanks, Lynda Mize and Sarah Norris; and granddaughter, Lily Mead.

He is survived by, son, Tyler Thomas of Oklahoma City; daughter, Amanda Mead of Woodward, Okla.; brothers, Bobby Thomas and Jody Thomas of Mineola; sister-in-law and longterm caretaker, Linda Thomas of Mineola; five grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2020 at Beaty Funeral Home, 5320 S. State Hwy. 37, Mineola at 1 p.m. with Rev. Mike Sullivan and Rev. Donny Chamberlain conducting.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
