Quitman Animal Clinic's annual Pet Fair is just around the corner! Bring your family and furry friends to the clinic, located at 1142 E Goode St, for a fun-filled day of entertainment, exotic animals and free refreshments. The event will be broadcast live on KMOO, and is free to the public. In addition, a fundraiser for the Quitman/Lake-Fork Kiwanis Club will be held. Come on out on April 26 from noon to 2:00 p.m. to help the clinic say "Thank You" to its customers.
The Quitman Garden Club will have James Wilhite, President of Wilhite Landscape, Tyler, as a guest speaker at their next meeting on May 13, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Quitman Library. Mr. Wilhite is considered a leader in the industry in landscape and horticultural in East Texas.
Liberty Church will host an Easter Sunrise service on April 20 at 7:00 a.m. Brother White of United Methodist Church (and several other local congregations) will officiate the service, and breakfast will be served. Liberty Church is located five miles out on Highway 154 East. For more information, call (903) 967-3450.
On Good Friday (April 18) beginning at 6 p.m., there will be a "Walk of Faith" in Alba. All are invited to join the congregation of the Alba Methodist Church, who will place a cross draped with black cloth in front of the church to remember the Lord's Crucifixion. The group will gather in the parking lot of the Alba Library before beginning their walk.
Dairy Queen's Thursday Nite Cruise will next take place on April 24, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The event features hot cars, cool treats, and entertainment by Dale "The C" Cummings.
