Donna Kay Hanson Hazzard, 1954-2021

Posted

Donna Kay Hanson Hazzard of Sheridan, Ark. was born Sept. 3, 1954 in Mineola, the daughter of the late Raymond and Natilou Harvey Hanson. She was a very faithful and active member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Sheridan, where she was passionate about serving families in need through the church’s food bank ministry. Donna kept busy with many things over the years. At various points, before moving to Arkansas, she was a beautician, she worked in the cafeteria at Mineola Elementary School and was part-owner of a Christian bookstore. After she moved to Sheridan, she worked for a number of years at Regions Bank, until her retirement. She and Tommy enjoyed traveling all over but had a special connection to Estes Park, Colo. Also, she never missed an opportunity to go shopping. She enjoyed vintage automobiles, and she and Tommy were active members of Dixie Car Club. By far though, her greatest joy was loving on her family. She adored each of them, and they never had a doubt how much she loved them.

Mrs. Hazzard died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2021 at St. Vincent Medical Center at the age of 66.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Tommy Hazzard of Sheridan; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Laura Hazzard of Canton; daughter and son-in-law, Erica and Danny Huntley of Sheridan; sisters, Diane Little of Whitehouse and Cathy Banks and husband James of Mineola; grandchildren, Aaron, Natilee, Mackenzie, Marshall, Jensen and James; great-granddaughter, Stella Raye; and numerous other family members, friends and her IBC church family.

Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Sheridan with Bro. Gary Copeland and Bro. Michael Walton officiating. Visitation was Friday from 6-8 p.m. also at the church.
