Dorothy Strebeck 1930-2020

Services for Dorothy Strebeck, 89, of Alba were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba, with Bro. Johnny Strebeck officiating.

Interment will be in Turner Cemetery, Emory.

Mrs. Strebeck passed away March 9, 2020 in Quitman. She was born July 11, 1930 in Grand Saline to Elmer Thomas and Susie Ann Sherwood Taylor. Dorothy was a resident of Wood County since 1968 and a member of the Golden Church of Christ. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, W.C. Strebeck; infant daughter, Janie Sue Strebeck; two brothers; and four sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Charles Strebeck and wife Teresa of Alba and Johnny Strebeck and wife Kathy of Broaddus; two daughters, Charlene Strebeck of Alba and Sharon Strebeck Dempsey of Mineola; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family received friends at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
