Doyle Ray Few  1942-2019

Doyle Ray Few was born in Mineola May 19, 1942 and died peacefully at home Sept. 13, 2019 surrounded by his family. He attended Mineola High School.

He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1960. After basic training in San Diego, Cal. he served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Lexington until 1962. He served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk until 1964. After his honorable discharge in 1964 he returned to Mineola and began working for United Gas Company.

In the fall of 1964 he met the love of his life Norma Jackson Few. Doyle and Norma married in May 1966 moving to Dallas. He began working for Jay’s Plumbing Company until its closure then with Jimco Plumbing Company until his retirement. After retirement Doyle spent much of his time enjoying his hobby, wood working.

His most enjoyable time was spent with his five grandchildren attending their various activities.

Doyle was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest Few and Annie Few. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Norma; four siblings, Barbara Ross of Mineola; Dale Few and wife Judy of Argyle; Charlene Hill of Mineola; and Mary Valentine and Larry Seibert of Hawkins; sons, Bryan Few and wife Sonia of Richardson and Darron Few and wife Michelle of Lavon; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

Services will be held Thursday, Sept. 19 at Sparkman Funeral Home, 1029 S. Greenville Ave., Richardson. Visitation Sept. 19, 9-10:30 a.m., service 10:30, burial DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas at 1 p.m.
