Edgewood too much for Alba-Golden
The Edgewood Lady Bulldogs might just be the 2019 District 12-3A volleyball favorites. They came to Alba-Golden last Friday and made short work of the Lady Panthers.
The Lady Panthers could not stand up to the near error-free Edgewood play. The Lady Bulldogs committed only three errors in game one, a 24-13 Edgewood win.
Although Crimson Bryant, Madi Bryant, Autumn Whitten and Ann Marie Pendergrass provided Alba-Golden a strong presence at the net, the Lady Panthers could not transition from defense to offense. Whereas Edgewood would be playing offense after one touch on the ball, the Lady Panthers required two touches to bring the ball under control. This negated many scoring opportunities.
Frustration set in during game two as Edgewood quickly doubled the scoring. The Lady Bulldogs methodically dissected the Alba-Golden defense. Game two was decided 25-8, and game three 25-9.
The Lady Panthers travelled to Mineola Tuesday and host Brownsboro in a non-district match-up Friday.
