The Quitman Lady Bulldogs ran into a buzz saw Saturday morning at Edgewood falling in straight sets 7-25, 7-25 14-25.

“This was a tough loss to take. Edgewood is a very strong team. We will do our best to regroup and be ready for them to come to Quitman next time,” Coach Ashlee Lingo said.

The Lady Bulldogs district record drops to 3-2 as the first half of the district slate comes to an end this week.

For the Lady Bulldogs Jentri Jackson had 11 digs and four kills; Julia Simpkins one dig, two kills, one ace; Shelby Hayes seven digs, six assists; Alexis O’Neal six digs; Maddy Whitehurst five digs, Lucy Brannon seven digs, two kills and two aces; and Ava Burroughs 4 digs, one kill, one ace, and one block.

In sub-varsity action Quitman took the freshman battle 25-13, 25-23 and the JV won 25-19, 25-18.
