QUITMAN-Funeral services for Edward Virgil Tier, Jr., 77 of Quitman were held October 27 at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Quitman, Texas with John Skelton officiating.
Burial followed in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery, Wood County, Texas.
Mr. Tier died October 22, 2018 in Tyler, Texas. He was born January 21, 1941, in Hollywood, Florida to Edward and Lawana Tier. He lived in Quitman since 1980 and worked for the Texas Highway Department for 16 years and later 12 years for Wood County precinct 3 in road maintenance. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Marjorie Tier, Quitman; two sons, Mike Tier of Winnsboro and Mark Tier Sulphur, Oklahoma; daughter, Ladeana Schmidt of Pontiac, Michigan; brother, Michael Tier of Leary, Georgia; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren
