Elsie Jane Love  1927-2019

Elsie Jane Love of Grand Saline went to be with our Lord and Savior on Dec. 14, 2019. The family received friends and family at Sand Flat Baptist Church on Tuesday, Dec. 17 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. for visitation with graveside services following at 2 p.m. in the Sand Flat Baptist Church cemetery.

Elsie was born in the Stout Community of Wood County on Nov. 23, 1927, to Ollie (Gill) and Ambrose Roach. She married the love of her life, C.O. “Peanut” Love, on June 30, 1945. They were married by Peanut’s uncle, Terrell Howle. Elsie and Peanut lived in this area all of their lives and became part of the Sand Flat Baptist Church Community in the early 1970s.  

Elsie was proceeded in death by her parents, Ambrose and Ollie Roach; husband, C.O. “Peanut” Love; and son, Alvin Ray Love. She is survived by son, Buford Love and daughter-in-law Jackie Love of Como; son, Calvin Love and daughter-in-law Sandy Love of Fruitvale; son, Clifford Love and daughter-in-law Sheri Love of Grand Saline; daughter, Alice Freeze and son-in-law Chris Freeze, Sr. of Fruitvale; daughter, Tami Elliott and son-in-law Dennis Elliott of Canton; one brother, Lloyd Roach of Quitman; and one sister, Wanda Fletcher of Quitman. Also left to cherish her memory are 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. 

Pallbearers are Jason Love, Jeff Love, Bob Love, Cleborne Freeze, Chris Freeze and Tristan Clark. Funeral services are under the direction of Lowe Funeral home, Quitman.
