Funeral services for James Wallace J. W. "Jim" Galloway, 66, were held August 29, 2013 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel of the Chimes, Quitman. Mr. Galloway passed away August 25th in Tyler. He was born November 5, 1944 in San Francisco, CA to Wallace and Opal Mae Turner Galloway. He was retired U. S. Navy and served in Vietnam, a member of the NRA and ABC Bowling, and a Baptist. Jim is preceded by his parents and a sister, Shirley Galloway. Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Sybil Galloway, Quitman, sons, Barry Forsyth, Grand Prairie, Craig Forsyth and Connie, Quitman; daughters, Joyce DeFord and Scott, Niantic, Ct; June Galloway, Plano, Darla Forsyth, Forney, Karla Dailey, Quitman, brother, Donald Galloway, San Jose, CA.; 10 Grandchildren and one great grandson; several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Come on over to Mineola’s beautiful Historic Select Theater and hear the Lake Country Symphonic Band’s Christmasy “Everything Christmas” concert.

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
