Extension hosting car seat check

Posted

For a car seat to best protect a child, it must be the one that fits the child, the vehicle, and one that will be used correctly every time.

This is why the Wood County Extension Office is urging parents and caregivers to attend the Child Safety Seat Checkup event on Tuesday, March 24.

Certified technicians will be available to provide on-site child safety seat inspections and education from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the WIC Clinic Parking Lot, 1020 E. Goode St. Quitman. Appointments will be taken for the safety seat inspection.

Securing a children properly in age- and size-appropriate child safety seats – in the back seat of the vehicle – is the most effective way to protect them in the event of an accident.

For more information on the March 24 Child Safety Seat Checkup Event or to schedule an appointment for a checkup that day,  please call Angie Monk, Wood County Extension Agent at 903-763-2924.
