Extension offers free car seat inspections

A free child safety seat check-up event is scheduled Thursday, Sept. 23 from 1-3 p.m. at the WIC Office, 1020 E. Goode St., Quitman.

The car seat inspections should take 30 minutes for each inspection. Please call the Wood County Extension Office at 903-763-2924 or the Quitman WIC Office at 903-763-4123 to schedule an appointment.

The event is sponsored locally by the Wood County Extension Office, Quitman WIC Office, People’s Telephone Cooperative, TxDOT/Tyler District and the Passenger Safety KidSafe Initiative.

All child passengers under 13 should ride securely restrained in the back seat where they are safest, every trip.
