A Bedford woman has died as a result of injuries received in an incident in front of the Alba-Golden school on Monday, March 6.

In a separate incident the driver of the vehicle involved was arrested in Tyler later that evening for criminal trespass at the hospital where the woman died.

Witnesses posted accounts of the incident on social media that the vehicle was observed driving from Loop 564 in Mineola northbound on U.S. 69.

One witness said the female was sitting facing the driver instead of forward, they appeared to be arguing, and the man was speeding, passing one motorist who was doing the speed limit of 70 miles per hour.

According to the preliminary report from the Texas Dept. of Public Safety, the female fell out of the passenger side of the moving vehicle, a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro convertible.

DPS reported the incident occurred at 3:40 p.m. in a 35 MPH speed zone, which indicates it was adjacent to the school.

Kristie A. Maxwell, 45, was flown to UT Health Hospital in Tyler and died from her injuries at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, March 7.

Ronald K. Vinson, 55, of Richardson was the driver. He was uninjured and was not arrested at the scene.

Maxwell’s funeral was held Tuesday in Bowlegs, Okla.
