Holiday event ahead
The annual “Home Sweet Home for the Holidays” program, presented by the Wood County TEEA Club, is set for Thursday, Nov. 14 at 10 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Mineola.
The program will feature demonstrations of holiday gift, decoration and project ideas. A soup lunch will be served that includes cornbread, drink and choice of dessert.
Each attendee will receive a booklet with all the instructions for each of the project demonstrations and holiday recipes. Admission for the program is $7 for adults and $1 for children. No pre-registration is needed, just pay at the door. Those attending will also be able to purchase raffle tickets on a variety of theme baskets that will be given away that day, so bring spending money.
The Wood County TEEA Club will also be selling delicious homemade pies for the Thanksgiving season. Pies available are pumpkin, coconut meringue, chocolate meringue, and lemon ice box which are all $10 each and pecan, and brownie pies are $12 each. All orders for pies must be turned in by Nov. 19, and pick-up for pies will be on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at the Extension Office from 9-10 a.m. or 4-5 p.m. For more information, please contact the County Extension Office at 903-763-2924.
