Filing for elected office in Texas begins Saturday, Nov. 9 and ends Monday, Dec. 9 at 6 p.m. for candidates in the March 3, 2020 primaries.

Those dates are also for independent candidates to file the declaration of intent.

Wood County offices up for election are district judge, district attorney (unexpired term), sheriff, tax assessor-collector, commissioner Pct. 1, Commissioner Pct. 3, all four precinct constables, Republican party chair and Democratic party chair. All are for four-year terms except the two-year unexpired term for district attorney.

State representative and U.S. representative will also be on the ballot for two-year terms, along with state senator for four years and one U.S. Senate seat for six years.

This will be a presidential election year, so most of the major state offices in Texas are not on the ballot.
