Food ministry still going but needs help to continue
The Bread of Life Food Pantry in Mineola is continuing its food pantry ministry on the first and third Tuesdays of each month.
Volunteers have enabled this ministry to continue after 15 years despite the national emergency.
However, some practices have changed for safety reasons during the coronavirus crisis.
Clients can assist by calling ahead any day of the week at 903-405-0064 or 903-569-9779.
Last Tuesday 132 food boxes were prepared for distribution, in addition to a few other items.
The pantry had many clients come on Tuesday, April 21, and it is anticipated the need will continue to rise.
Unfortunately, the main source of income, a monthly breakfast held at various area churches, has been temporarily put on hold due to the virus restrictions.
To donate to the Bread of Life Food Pantry, write to PO Box 196, Mineola TX 75773.
The pantry is a member of the East Texas Food Bank Network (ETFB) and a 501c(3) charity.
