The Quitman Lake Country Charitable Foundation is accepting tax deductible donations for a campaign to support hard-working hospital, first responder and grocery employees during these difficult times. Donations will be used to buy gift cards to local businesses for these front line workers.

Donate online; mail checks to Quitman Foundation, PO Box 1453, Quitman, TX 75783; or call 903-394-8941 to arrange to drop off a donation. Please include “Benevolence Fund” in the note or memo section of the donation.

COVID-19 Front Line Worker Grants are intended to benefit persons who work in the geographic area covered by the Quitman Independent School District in occupations providing necessary community services with high risk exposure to the COVID-19 virus and who have been negatively impacted financially by the COVID-19 epidemic.

Examples of workers intended to be covered include but are not necessarily limited to workers in food chain businesses, law enforcement, medical workers and emergency responders. Negative financial impacts might include but are not necessarily limited to the loss of household income because of pay reductions for the applicant or members of applicant’s household or increases in household expenses as a result of the epidemic.

The Quitman Lake Country Charitable Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to improving the lives of people and animals of all ages.

Its mission is to promote the general improvement of the Quitman Lake Country and surrounding area by improving quality of life and alleviating the effects of poverty and economic hardship through charitable relief and assistance.
