Four elected to tax board, one vacancy remains
Four members have been elected to the board of the Wood County Central Appraisal District.
However a fifth member will have to be chosen after one person who was elected was disqualified.
Serving two-year terms will be Sam Curry, John Johnson, Al Harris and Robert Jackson. All but Jackson are incumbents.
Connan Welch of Winnsboro was elected to the fifth board seat but was determined to be an employee of a participating taxing unit.
The vacancy will be filled by the board after seeking nominations from the taxing entities.
Members are elected based on votes cast by the participating entities, with the number of votes determined by the tax levy of each entity, totaling 5,000 votes.
