Frankie Lynn Brown, 1928-2020


Frankie Lynn Brown of Yantis passed away on June 6, 2020 at age 92. She was born on Jan. 28, 1928 to David Frank Crim and Eunice Aline (Martin) Crim in McKinney. Frankie married John L. Brown on Oct. 12, 1944 in Love County, Okla. She was a registered nurse for 35 years. Frankie was very active in Central Christian Church in Winnsboro, where she was an ordained elder and every Thursday she volunteered at the Blessing Box. She enjoyed painting and found peace through watercolor painting. Frankie was a member of the Southwest Water Color Society of Dallas, and until recently drove to the Mt. Pleasant Art Society. She was an active volunteer and hospitality chairman for Friends of the Library in Quitman. Frankie enjoyed reading and made her family and faith a priority.

Frankie is survived by her children, Katherine Ellis and husband, Robert of Rockport, Priscilla O’Malley and husband, Patrick of Hot Springs Village, Ark., David Brown and wife, Debbie of Carrollton, William Brown of Sanger, Alicia Milner and husband, Randy of Yantis and Robert Brown of Yantis; grandchildren, Derek Ellis and wife, Sara of Corpus Christi, Cylinda Hill and husband, Ralph of Apollo, Penn., William Mat Brown and wife, Alicia of Flower Mound, Brian Brown of Athens, Christina Cimino and husband, Michael of Quitman and Dustin Brown and wife, Katie of Fort Worth; brothers, Jere Crim and wife, Esther of Frisco and Jimmy Crim and wife, Barbara of Amarillo; sister, Patricia Mahand of Greenville; seven great-grandchildren, Whitney, Carter, Avery, Brenden, Emmitt, Luke and Michelle; and four great-great-grandchildren, Nora, Owen, Taeson and Teagan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Brown, and her sisters, Janis Sterling and Doris Davis.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frankie’s memory to Central Christian Church, CCC “Blessing Box”, or the St. Joseph Indian School.

A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at Central Christian Church in Winnsboro.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
