Full MISD board to review interim applications
An adjusted process to hire an interim superintendent for the Mineola School District was outlined by board President John Abbott at Friday’s school board meeting.
Rather than a meeting this week to review the applications by a three-member committee, Abbott asked that all board members review the applications at the administration office on their own, then a meeting of the full board will be called once the application deadline has passed (Sept. 11) to consider the top applicants and set up interviews.
Abbott noted that a quorum of the board cannot be in the building, and that the resumes must remain there.
The district is seeking an interim superintendent in the wake of a separation agreement Aug. 22 with Kim Tunnell, who has served for the past four years.
