Graduation on hold for MHS
Mineola ISD graduation plans are still undecided. Superintendent Cody Mize and the school board had been hoping for some direction concerning graduation ceremonies from Gov. Greg Abbott in his COVID-19 update Monday, April 27.
MISD is still waiting for guidance and recommendations from Abbott or the Texas Education Agency. While waiting, the senior class committee is considering four graduation options that go from the least restrictive environment with guests to a virtual ceremony that is filmed over time and released on graduation night.
The school is actively working with students, parents and staff to find ways to celebrate the graduating seniors and their accomplishments in the community.
