In what turned out to be a complete offensive shootout, Grand Saline out-dueled the Alba-Golden Panthers last Tuesday in Alba winning 22-11.
The Grand Saline Indians got off to an extremely hot start as they took a 9-0 lead scoring six runs in the first two innings and adding three more runs in the third inning. The 9-0 lead was capped off when Grand Saline’s Connor Lowe hit a home run off A-G’s Kason Trimble in the third inning.
Daniel Wiley pitched the first two innings before being relieved by Trimble who was later replaced by Zane Smith.
After being down by nine runs both teams traded runs the remainder of the game with A-G scoring 11 in the final four innings while Grand Saline scored 13 as they earned the victory.
