The Mineola Lady Jackets help get the Texas girls high school basketball playoffs get underway Monday, facing the Atlanta Lady Rabbits at Hallsville for the bidistrict title.

The Lady Jackets finished fourth in District 13-3A while Atlanta won District 14-3A. The winner will take on the victor between Sabine and Jefferson.

The Quitman boys clinched a playoff spot Friday with a 51-49 victory over Mt. Vernon. That moved the Bulldogs into third place with a game to go.

Mt. Vernon and Winnsboro face each other Tuesday with the winner getting into the playoffs while the loser is eliminated.

Quitman travels to Mineola Tuesday to end the regular season, with the 9-2 Yellowjackets trying to hang on to a first-place tie with 10-2 Chapel Hill while 7-4 Quitman will be trying to avoid a third-place tie with the Mt. Vernon-Winnsboro winner.

Alba-Golden boys kept their hopes alive with wins over Cooper and Como-Pickton this week to forge a three-way tie for third with Boles and Como-Pickton at 4-5. Those two play each other Tuesday with Alba-Golden taking on district leader North Hopkins. A win puts the Panthers in the playoffs while a loss leaves them in a tie for the final spot.
