Holly Brook organizing help for planned ‘Harvey’ cleanup

Holly Brook Baptist Church in Hawkins, in conjunction with the Texas Baptist Men, plans to send men and women to help Hurricane Harvey victims in southeast Texas next week.

The group is scheduled to go to Orange Sunday through Saturday to help families whose homes were damaged by flood waters. The volunteers plan to hang sheetrock, tape and bed walls, hang cabinets and paint.

Anyone who is not able to make the trip or perform the work is invited to provide prayer support and contribute funds for the project.

Women plan retreat

Women of Holly Brook Baptist have set Feb. 17 for their annual retreat. Details will be announced over the next several weeks.

Women to study

“Beloved Disciple”

“Beloved Disciple” is the title of a Beth Moore Bible study of Jesus’ disciple John for women of Holly Brook Baptist Church. Beginning today (Wednesday), the 11-week study will be offered from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the church. Contact session leader Joyce Grisham for information or to reserve a workbook.

Men studying Proverbs

A men’s Bible study of the book of Proverbs is continuing. The group meets weekly on Tuesdays from 8:15 to 9 a.m. in Room D-101-03 of the Family Life Center of the church building. Men of the area are welcome.

Women on Mission to meet

Women on Mission will meet Tuesday, Jan. 23 at 9:30 a.m. in the Craft Room of the Family Life Center. The group will work on a mission project. Area women are welcome.
