Holly Brook women to aid prison ministry

Posted

Paulette Kirkpatrick will speak to Women on Mission on Oct. 16 about ministering to women who are being released from prison. The meeting will take place in the Family Life Center. All women in the area are invited.

Kirkpatrick will talk about the ministry the women of her church provide in filling bags with personal items to be distributed to women inmates who are being released.

Holly Stitchers, a sewing ministry at Holly Brook Baptist, has made 200 bags for the project. Holly Brook members are asked to bring items to fill the bags: hairbrush, bath travel kit, tissues (eight count), lip balm, dental travel kit, deodorant, hand sanitizer, gum (four packages of five sticks), and individually wrapped mints. There is a box in the Family Life Center lobby for the items.

Additionally, new or gently used women’s coats, sweaters, or jackets for the women may also be placed in the Family Life Center lobby.

Call the church office for more information. The church is located at 3219 S. FM 2869, Hawkins; telephone 903-769-2091. The website is www.hollybrookbaptist.org.
