A “Preserving the Harvest: Food Preservation Program” is set for Thursday, June 27 from 10 a.m. –noon at the Wood County Extension Office, 618 S. Main St., Quitman.
This program will be an introduction to the basics of canning. Topics will include water bath vs. pressure canning, equipment, safety and procedures for vegetables, fruits and pickles.
Participants will receive instruction, resources, handouts, recipes and door prizes for attending.
There is a $15 per person registration fee for the program. Space is limited to the first 25 people to sign up. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
