Lake Fork is completely full now. The water clarity was stained to heavily stained all over the lake. The water temperatures are in the mid 70s and getting warmer every day.

The bass fishing is fair to good using small crankbaits and wacky worms. The crankbaits that we used this week were Strike Kings 1.5 in the natural shad color on the main lake and chartreuse with a black back in the creeks.

We used Zoom chartreuse/pumpkin and California 420 trick worms rigged wacky style around the grass beds to catch good numbers of bass. We dyed the tails of the California 420 worms chartreuse.

Don’t forget to put a nail in the head of the wacky worms.

The white bass are starting to move out of the creeks into the main lake. You can catch them in 24 foot of water on main lake hump and old roadbeds. Use Joe Spaits white with black back stripe Flashtail ½-ounce spoon or small white swim baits.

Well the crappie anglers had to work a little harder this week. The crappies are in transition from the shallow spawning waters back out to the deep-water brush piles. Look for them in 12 to 18 foot of water over isolated brush piles and use a Bubba’s Bait 1/8 ounce chartreuse/white crappie jig tipped with a minnow.

The catfish are still shallow. Look for isolated trees on 5 to 8 feet and use large minnows or punch bait. Minnows are still working the best.
