Mineola police reports for the past week included:

Jan. 25 – Police received a report of a six-year-old child being bitten on the hand by a neighbor’s dog. The bite was minor and the dog was quarantined with the vet.

Police arrested Justin Dewayne Tave, 30, Mineola, on a parole warrant and a Franklin County warrant after going to a on Giles Street on a Child Protective Services report.

Jan. 24 – Police arrested Antejuane Sinio Wiley, 36, of Dallas on a Dallas County warrant for theft by check. Wiley was a passenger in a vehicle stopped for a defective license plate light. He was released later in the day due to Dallas dismissing the charge after his arrest.

Personnel at Longhorn Ford reported a navigation system was stolen out of a vehicle.

There was a report at 12:41 p.m. of a single gunshot being heard in the area of Kilpatrick and Pegues Streets. A responding officer was unable to locate the source of the shot.

Police arrested William Buck Harris, 28, of Hawkins for driving while license invalid, unlawful possession of a firearm and manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance. Harris was pulled over in his car at 3:51 p.m. on West Broad Street for failure to stop for a school bus. Police reported finding over 100 grams of methamphetamine.

Jan. 23 – At 12:04 p.m. police issued a criminal trespass warning to a man at Cross Country Foods on a request of personnel there.

At 12:28 p.m. a manager at Golden Chick reported an abandoned truck in their parking lot. Officers checked the vehicle and found it was stolen from inside the city of Quitman on Jan. 17.

There was a report of criminal mischief at Wisener Field, where someone shot out a beacon light.

A woman on Ryan Street reported a man looking in the window of her house at 3 p.m. The man was located and said he believed the house was vacant because there was a for sale sign in the yard.

Police were called about a man knocking on someone’s door at Mineola Motor Lodge. An officer talked to the man who he found was drunk and had the wrong room. He was released to his girlfriend.

Police arrested Jorge Avalos-Rios, 40, of Mineola for public intoxication when they were called back to Mineola Motor Lodge about an hour after the first call. Avalos-Rios had hit someone’s car.

There was a loud music complaint on West McDonald Street at 10 p.m. and an officer had the resident turn the music down.

Jan. 22 – A young man found an ATM in the machine at Bank Texas Holding on North Pacific Street and turned it in to police, who located the owner to whom it was returned.

Jan. 21 – Police received a report about a woman who was in a vehicle with three males getting slapped. Officers weren’t able to find the vehicle.

There was a report at 11:44 p.m. of gunshots in the area of Wisener Field Airport on Country Club Drive. Officers patrolled and could hear the shots, but noted they seemed to be coming from outside the city limits.

Jan. 20 – An officer located two men in the parking lot at Cross Country Foods in an argument. It was only an argument, however, and the men separated.

A customer of My Credit Union reported fraud when her debit card was used for purchases sent to South Africa.

Jan. 19 – Police arrested Ashley Cristina Santiago, 32, Mineola for possession of drug paraphernalia. Santiago’s car was pulled over on Patten and North Pacific Streets for failure to stop at the designated point at the stop sign. Police reported she had a small amount of marijuana and a marijuana pipe in her possession.

Police arrested Russell Gene Adkins, 63, Grand Saline on a warrant out of the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office for criminal mischief, a warrant for theft out of Lindale Police Department, theft by check from the Wood County Sheriff’s Office and theft warrant out of the Mineola PD. Personnel at Walmart had contacted the department wanting Adkins to be issued a criminal trespass warning from the store and police found he had several warrants.

Police arrested Michael Edward Rogers, 43, Winnsboro for driving with an invalid license, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. Police also arrested Roger’s passenger, Krista Lynn McLemore, 35, Winnsboro, for possession of a controlled substance. The vehicle they were in was pulled over on North Pacific Street because the officer knew Rogers didn’t have a valid driver’s license.
