There is nothing like a rainy workday at the Arboretum to spur our volunteers into taking down the Christmas decorations and begin discussing gardening ideas and plans for the spring.

We are excited to kick off our 2019 Nature U Series of informative classes on Saturday, Jan. 19. What better speaker to get you in the mood to plan and plant than Holly Ross? Holly has been a friend of the Arboretum for many years. She is the former owner of Hollyberry Herb Farm in Canton. After devastating tornado winds reduced the house and the property to rubble, Holly and her family relocated to Galveston Island.

Holly is coming back to East Texas to share her boundless knowledge with a workshop titled “Spring into Spring Gardening.” A few of the many topics she will cover are prepping your beds, making your own compost, and how to successfully grow your own plants from seed.

As the owner/operator of a successful herb and plant business, Holly Ross brings many years of experience with her to this presentation.
