Inside and Outside the Picket Fence
I recently read an article discussing the restorative powers of gardens and gardening. I realized that the beauty and serenity one finds in gardens is a gift for all of us. We at the Arboretum like to think we have offered our friends and neighbors a bit of beauty and a place to enjoy the wonder of these plants that return each spring.
Saturday, April 27, will find us involved in another session of Creative U. This one covers creating your own yard art. Registration is now open for this session. Beverly Chamberlin, our instructor for this class, will provide all the necessary materials. You may call 430-235-5461 if you wish to register.
We would like to thank those of you who braved hurricane winds and rain during our last plant sale. Your support and enthusiasm were most rewarding.
Are you a runner? Do you enjoy watching others run? To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the building of the Stinson House and Miss Ima Hogg’s birthday, we will be sponsoring a 5K Run and Kid’s Fun Run. This event will take place at Hogg Park in July. This gives you a few months to dust off the old Nikes, start those practice runs around the neighborhood and pump some iron if necessary.
Hope to see you in the gardens. We are there on Wednesdays, and the coffee is on.
