Irene Strickland

MINEOLA-Funeral services for Irene Strickland, 79 of Mineola, were held October 4 at Hubbard Chapel Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Phelps officiating.

Graveside service followed at Concord Cemetery.

Mrs. Strickland died October 1, 2018, in Tyler. She was born in Collin County on October 9, 1938 to Buford and Dora Blasingame. She was a seamstress for Hager Slacks. She attended Hubbard Chapel Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father.

Survivors include her husband, CL Strickland of Mineola; two sons, Wilton Strickland of Hawkins and Jeffery Strickland of Mineola; two daughters, Anita Wylie of Mineola and Sandy Cabe of Winnsboro; brother, Larry Landers of Princeton; sister, Dorthea Mills of Chambersville; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and many extended family members and friends.
