Jack Milford Hensley 1931-2022

Jack Milford Hensley, 90 of Mineola passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Friday, April 15, 2022 in Tyler. He was born on Dec. 27, 1931 in Florence, Ala. to the late John Guy Hensley and Mary Louise Milford Hensley.

He is survived by his son, Jack Hensley, Jr. and wife Barbara of Ennis; daughters, Vickie Hensley Fuller of Monroe, La. and Julia Hensley Burt and husband, James of Harrah, Okla.; brothers, James Hensley (Patsy) of Madison, Ala. and Jerry Hensley of Cullman, Ala.; lifelong friend and brother-in-law Donald R. Palmore of Mineola; loving friend, Bessie Taylor of Hawkins; seven grandchildren, Marc Hensley (Kim), Katie Hensley Outlaw (Chris), Allison Fuller Smith (Brian), Emily Fuller Primm (Scot), Wesley Burt (Jordan), Callie Burt Davies (James), andBradley Burt; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola. Interment was at 2 p.m. at Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas.

Jack was retired from Mobil Oil and a member of First Baptist Church in Mineola. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, George Ann Hensley in 2007. He served in the US Air Force and was a Korean War veteran. He served his Lord faithfully for many years as an adult Sunday School teacher, deacon and in many key church leadership positions. He was deeply loved as a faithful, gracious and generous husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who was fondly known as "the Godfather,” the patriarch of the Hensley family.

He will leave a great void in the hearts of his loved ones but is now rejoicing in the presence of his Savior and all his loved ones in heaven.
