Jacket football players moving to next level

It’s any high school athlete’s dream to have the opportunity to play the sport they love at the college level and for two Mineola Yellowjacket Football players that dream was realized Wednesday.

Senior offensive linemen Chandler Price and senior running back Curtis London signed national letters of intent to continue their football careers in college.

Price will be headed to Rindge, New Hampshire this fall to play NCAA division II sprint football at Franklin Pierce University. Price was a second team all-district center for the Jackets this year and moved to Mineola in 2017 from Sulphur Springs.

London is headed to Sherman this fall to play NCAA Division III football at Austin College. London was voted Co-Utility MVP, awarded to a player who plays multiple positions at the highest level in the district. London has played on Mineola’s varsity football team the last two seasons.

London ran for 419 yards and six touchdowns while adding 149 receiving yards and a touchdown.
