Jackets place nine players overall, including Freshman, Newcomer of the Year, three First Team picks

After a playoff appearance and an overall solid season ending with a 13-13 record the Mineola Yellowjacket baseball team saw nine of its players earn All-District honors.

At the beginning of the season Coach Brent Hutto mentioned that he would have a relatively young team and that he would need to rely on some of his newer and younger players to really produce if the team would have a chance to win games. Both Dalton Rogers and Jonah Fischer filled those needed roles nicely as Rogers earned district Newcomer of the Year, while Fischer won Freshman of the Year. Both players provided a much-needed offensive spark at the plate as first-year varsity players.

The Jackets also had three first-team honorees, Jacob Ford was a first-team selection at catcher, Cody Ford was a first-team selection at pitcher and Cameron Wise was selected as the one of the districts best designated hitters.

Mineola also had four second team honorees as Cole Castleberry was voted in as a pitcher, Connor Dobbs was voted in as a utility player, and both River Simonek and Bailey Mischnick got in as infielders.

The district also released their All-Academic baseball teams as Fischer, Rogers, Simonek, Jacob Ford, Mischnick, Castleberry and Wise were all honored for their excellence in the classroom this spring.
