Jerry “J.D.” Morgan, 1945-2019

Graveside funeral services for Jerry “J.D.” Morgan, 74, of Quitman were Sunday, June 2 at the IOOF Cemetery in Farmersville.

Mr. Morgan died May 19, 2019.

He was born Dec. 25, 1945, in Alba to Macie Dee and Georgie Morgan. He was married to his wife, Sara Morgan, for 55 years. They resided in Duncanville, where they raised two daughters, Shannon and Jodi. Upon retirement, they moved to Quitman in 1995. J.D was a Navy veteran and a retired Dallas firefighter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, his father and mother-in-law, and many beloved family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Sara Morgan of Quitman; daughter, Shannon Morgan Wheeler of Kerens and Jo-Dion (Jodi) Morgan Otto of Quitman; four grandchildren; and one brother, Bobby Morgan.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert
