Graveside services for James Stanton Rossie, Sr., 74, Mineola, were held Saturday, April 5, 2014 in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Alba with Reverend Reggie Day officiating.

Mr. Rossie passed away March 29, 2014. He was born August 29, 1939 to Charles M. and Sierra Flora Sharpe Rossie. He retired from the LAFD as a Firefighter, he was a Baptist a member of the Lodge #1233 Masonic, Tyler, and worked many years for the Tyler ISD.

He is preceded in death by his wife Tokey Rossie in 2010.

Survivors include daughters, Brenda and Alfredo Soto, Eupora, MS and Ashley and Trey Stephens, Como-Pickton; son and daughter-in-law, James S. Rossie and Sharon, Austin, brother, Charles M Rossie, LA, CA; sister, Lynn Horst, Huntsville, AL, 8 grandchildren and numerous nieces nephews and extended family.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Come on over to Mineola’s beautiful Historic Select Theater and hear the Lake Country Symphonic Band’s Christmasy “Everything Christmas” concert.

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
