Johnny Mack Pope, 1950-2020

Johnny Mack Pope, 69 of Mineola, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 in Tyler. He was born on July 16, 1950 in Sulphur Springs to the late Marvin Pope and Bernice Keen Pope.

He worked for Circle T. Transportation and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Janoice Cobb.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila Clower Pope of Mineola; daughters, Amy Powell of Sulphur Springs, Jill and Ronny Sneed of Mineola and Lindsey Pope of Mineola; son, Colby Pope of Mineola; sisters, Joann Adair of Alba and Dottie Alexander of Alba; and 11 grandchildren.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
