Joseph Cirasola, 1952-2020

Joseph Cirasola, 67, of Holly Lake Ranch passed away on May 29, 2020. Joseph was born to Rose and Salvatore Cirasola in Brooklyn, N.Y. on July 29, 1952. He graduated from Archbishop Molloy High School in Queens, N.Y. and attended Iona College in New Rochelle, N.Y. 

Joe came to East Texas in 1998 and, soon thereafter, moved to Holly Lake Ranch where he became passionate about community service through his involvement with the Holly Lake Volunteer Fire Department. Joe served with the department for 15 years, the last five as fire chief. He was honored as “Firefighter of the Year.” Through this role he ran multiple charitable events in the Holly Lake community. Joe was also the precinct chair for the Wood County Republican Party and was a daily presence in the pro shop. Not forgetting his roots, Joe remained a long-suffering New York Mets and Jets fan. 

Joe was preceded in death by his father, Salvatore, and his mother, Rose. He is survived by his daughter, Nicole Dulberg, and his son-in-law, Jon Dulberg and his twin granddaughters, Taylor and Jordan. He is also survived by his sisters, Antoinette McGann and husband John of Miramar Beach, Fla. and Mary Navetta and husband Frank of Tyler. 

Visitation and the prayer of the rosary will take place at Lowe Funeral Home in Quitman on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 from 6-8:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. at the Chapel of Sts. Peter and Paul in Tyler. Burial with fire department honors will follow mass at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Tyler.

Memorial donations may be in Joe’s name to the Holly Lake Volunteer Fire Department.
