1941-2018

Joyce Gray, age 77 of Quitman, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018, in Tyler.

She was born on Sept. 15, 1941, in Bailey, Texas, to the late Kenneth Baker and Jewel Caplinger.

She was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed caring for family. She was a member of Hubbard Chapel Baptist Church and also a part of their Women’s Missionary Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Gray; daughter, Tammy; and grandson, Chase Stepp.

She is survived by daughters, Kathy Mezzell of Mineola, Janet Arrington of Winnsboro, and Vicki Patton of Whitehouse; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Saturday, Dec. 15 at Hubbard Chapel Baptist Church. Funeral services were Saturday, Dec. 15 at Hubbard Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Ellington conducting. Interment was at Concord Cemetery in Mineola.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Come on over to Mineola’s beautiful Historic Select Theater and hear the Lake Country Symphonic Band’s Christmasy “Everything Christmas” concert.

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
