Juvenile held in stabbing death, attorney father hurt
A 15-year old juvenile male was arrested in Upshur County Sunday in connection with a knife attack at a home near Quitman where a female was killed and an adult male stabbed sometime early Sunday.
Quitman attorney Mark Breding was the man injured with stab wounds and has undergone emergency surgery.
Breding has had at least two surgeries and he is hospitalized at an undisclosed location.
The murdered female was Breding’s fiancé, but her name had not been released to the public at press time.
After eluding law enforcement officers for six hours the juvenile was arrested.
Wood County Sheriff’s officers, Hawkins police and other law enforcement agencies worked together in the apprehension of the suspect in the Big Sandy area Sunday.
Texas Rangers and Wood County are handling the investigation.
Sheriff Tom Castloo said, “When there are juveniles involved in a case like this, there is nothing we can say.”
