Kary Mark Pack, 1961-2021

Kary Mark Pack, 59, stepped into heaven on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021 with family by his side. On June 10, 1961 Mark was born to JE Pack and Jacqueline (Jackie) Burton in Roswell, N.M. He married his bride, Donna Brim, on July 24, 1982 in Roswell. They have two sons. First and foremost, Mark loved God and sharing His love. His family, fishing and the Dallas Cowboys came next. Mark had an undeniable laugh and a great sense of humor. He loved to make people laugh. His one-liners are legendary. “wherever you go…there you are.” Mentor, friend, Pac-Man and “legend of Lake Fork” are words spoken about Mark. He was a professional fishing guide for Lake Fork for many years. He loved fishing! He was able to make a living off his passion. Mark’s professional career was over 10 years between the Bassmaster Elites and the FLW Tours where he fished over 100 professional tournaments and achieved 12 Top 10 finishes, three Title appearances and two tour victories. In 2013 he continued innovating lures and bringing them to the bass fishing industry with M-Pack Lures. His innovation was the M-Pack Jig and the M-Pack Shad.

Mark is survived by his wife, Donna Pack of Mineola; sons, Jason and Ana Pack of Paris and Joshua Pack, Mineola; mother, Jackie Burton, Roswell, N.M.; in-laws, Glenn and Ruth Brim of Roswell, N.M.; brothers, Jamie and Lori Pack of Roswell, N.M. and Tony Bartlett of Peaster; sisters, Lyndia and Jimmy Meeks of Roswell, N.M., Ellene and Rick Cunningham of Bridgeport, Gina Hall of Roswell, N.M. and Dawn and Don Strait of Peaster; brother-in-law, Scott and Angela Brim of Roswell, N.M.; sister-in-law, Debra and John Stapleton of Colorado Springs, Colo.; nieces, Amber and John Dollar of Roswell, N.M., Kiersten and Jeff Lynn of Roswell, N.M., Ayrin Meeks of Roswell, N.M., Christia and Shane Cowen of Poolville and Kristen Veretto of Colorado Springs, Colo.; nephews, Randy and Krystal Whited of Paradise, Alex and Theresa Meeks of Scottsdale, Ariz., Andrew Meeks and fiancé Brittany McNamara of Phoenix, Ariz. and Cody Cunningham and fiancé Cheyenne Fox of Springtown; great nieces, Brooklyn and Brielle Dollar of Roswell, N.M., Kadince and Kabella Whited and Makayla Caple of Paradise; great nephews, Eli, Noah and Luke Lynn of Roswell, N.M., Jace and Quinten Cowen of Poolville and Blaze Dollar of Roswell, N.M.; and numerous cousins. Mark was preceded in death by his father, JE Pack. 

A memorial service will take place at a later date.
