Deputy Kevin Atkinson was dispatched to an address at Holiday Villages for a structure fire and arrived to find the homeowner lying on the ground several feet from the residence. Speaking with the man, Atkinson learned the man had been awakened by the sound of a loud explosion and several smoke detector alarms going off. The man, who was unharmed, further advised that he dove out the bedroom window and called for help. Atkinson entered the residence and observed smoke damage throughout the house and fire damage in the living room. According to the fire chief at the scene, the fire appeared to be electrical in nature. This case has been forwarded to the fire marshal.

Sgt Chris Turner was dispatched to an address on FM 2659 for a theft. According to the complainant, two 50' welding leads were missing from a welding trailer. This case has been forwarded for investigation.

Deputy Aaron Warren took a theft report from a representative of Willard Cemetery who stated a VA headstone, valued at $1,000, went missing from the gravesite of a WW 2 Navy veteran in May 2013. According to the man, he had just now been able to get in touch with a family member who requested he report the theft so that the VA would provide a replacement. This case is now in the hands of an investigator.

Sgt. Tim Baucom took a report of burglary of a building from a man on CR 3227 who stated a bench grinder was stolen from his storage building. Information was obtained regarding a possible suspect and the case has been forwarded for additional investigation.

Lt. Robert Holland took a theft report from a man who stated cash and a gold necklace were missing from his home. According to the man, he allowed a female friend to stay with him for several weeks and after she left he discovered the items missing. Total value of the missing property is $740. This case has been forwarded to CID.

Lt. Robert Holland took a report from a complainant who stated her husband violated a protective order by coming to her place of employment in the Hawkins area. This case is in the hands of an investigator.

Deputy Kevin Atkinson took a report of criminal mischief from a complainant who stated his pickup had been damaged while parked at his place of employment on CR 2670. According to the man, the fuel hose and some electrical wiring was cut. The man also stated that several other company employees' vehicles were damaged as well. Photographs were taken of the damage and the case was forwarded for additional investigation.

Deputy Justin Wallis took a report of phone harassment from a man on CR 1750 who stated he was receiving calls from a private number early in the morning and late at night. Each time, the phone rings only once, causing problems when his mother, who is ill, tries to get up to answer. According to the man, he believes he knows who is responsible for the calls. Information was recorded about the possible suspect and the case was turned over for investigation.

Deputies Terri Altman and Justin Wallis responded to a structure fire on Hwy 154 and arrived to find the fire department already on scene with the fire under control. According to the home's tenant, he had been burning trash behind the residence and went inside leaving the fire unattended for a period of time and was notified a short time later that the shed was on fire. An incident report was completed and the case was closed.

Deputy Justin Wallis took a theft report from a complainant who stated he hired a remodeling company to work on a residence on FM 1647 in preparation for selling the home. According to the man, the company agreed to complete the job for an agreed upon price and had been paid in full. The complainant then discovered several items, totaling $1,900 that were supposed to have been purchased for the house were not there. A list of missing items, including insulation, stove, refrigerator and shower insert was provided and the case was forwarded for more investigation.

Sgt. William Burge took a report of criminal mischief from a resident on Cedar Cove at Holly Lake Ranch who stated she got into an argument with a male acquaintance who slammed her cell phone to the ground, destroying it. According to the woman, the man agreed to pay for the phone but she did not feel as though he would and wished to pursue criminal charges. This case is now in the hands of an investigator.

Deputies Terri Altman and Donivan South were dispatched to CR 3481 in reference to identity theft. According to the complainant, he believes he has been the victim of identity theft for over a year and a half and has made several attempts to resolve the issue with the bank but has been unsuccessful. The man also stated he is working with a fraud counselor through a credit reporting agency. An incident report was completed for documentation purposes and the case was closed.

Deputy Dustin Moffett was dispatched to a residence on FM 14 for a report of an assault which had just occurred. Upon arrival, Moffett was advised by the victim that she had been slapped by her daughter-in-law after telling her she could not come into the residence. The victim further advised she does not get along with her son's wife and did not want the woman at her residence because she did not want a confrontation. The woman's son and daughter in-law had already left the residence when Moffett arrived. The victim did not wish to pursue charges but did request a criminal trespass warning be issued to her son's wife. An incident report was completed and the case was closed.

Sgt. Sam Threadgill and Deputy Kevin Atkinson were dispatched to an address on FM 515 in reference to an assault which had occurred four hours earlier. According to the victim, her husband had struck her several times in the stomach, back and neck area following an altercation over dinner preparations. Two women at the location, who were the victim's daughters, stated they were taking their mother with them to their residence for safety. The suspect was questioned at the scene and admitted striking the woman with the house phone. The victim stated she did not wish to pursue charges in the matter. An incident report was completed and the case closed.

Lt. Robert Holland took a theft report from a complainant who resides on CR 1411 who stated she believes numerous items of clothing and other household goods had been taken from her home over the past seven months. The woman stated she believed family members and visitors were responsible and provided Lt. Holland with a detailed list of the missing items, which totaled over $1,500. This case has been forwarded for additional investigation.

Deputy Steven Fields took a theft report from a man who stated items had been stolen from his home, located on CR 2306, three weeks ago. According to the man, he invited a friend over to his home and the friend brought his daughter and her boyfriend along. The man further stated they were weighing gold and silver and he was showing the trio his jewelry. The three visitors left at 10 PM and the next morning at 6:30 AM the complainant noticed items missing including an amp, a silver chain and a silver Star of David encrusted with 50 small diamonds. The complainant advised that he contacted his friend, who had been visiting the previous night, and told the man he wanted his items back. The friend stated he would retrieve the items from his daughter's boyfriend, whom he suspected of taking them. The amp and silver chain were returned but the silver medallion remains missing. This case has been turned over to CID.

Deputy Aaron Warren took a burglary of a building report from a complainant who has property on FM 1804. Warren arrived to find a cattle style gate lifted from its hinges and pushed back to allow entry to the property. A trailer was observed on the side of a barn and had a log splitter partially loaded as though it had fallen off the ramps. Various tools were located behind a barn whose doors had all been found unlocked. Inside the barn, multiple tools were scattered about and there was evidence that suspects had entered the barn through the front sliding door. Photographs were taken at the scene and the case was forwarded for investigation.

Deputy Tony Ingram took a theft report from a complainant who stated that sometime since the first of the year, a 14' olive drab Alumacraft boat had been stolen from Boggy Creek Lake Association off CR 3540. According to the complainant, the boat was unregistered due to it being on a private lake. Ingram recorded identifying marks on the boat and forwarded the case to CID for additional investigation.

After a lengthy investigation into an organized crime ring in the Quitman area, Investigator Josh O'Grady located a stolen travel trailer in Logansport, Louisiana. Wood County investigators along with authorities from Logansport were able to recover the camper and return it to the owner. O'Grady issued several warrants involving the theft of the travel trailer.

After following up on a report originally taken by Deputy Austin Cryer, Investigator O'Grady obtained warrants on a suspect for stalking. The suspect had been harassing his ex-girlfriend for quite some time. The female victim was fearful of the ex after he was lurking at her house blocking her driveway on numerous occasions.

Sgt. Jacob Richardson met with a complainant in the Hawkins area. The complainant previously filed a report with the Sheriff's Office after catching a man who had broken into an old home on her property. The home was vacant and the reporting party believed the man was there to steal items and wire from the house. Richardson obtained an arrest warrant for the man after presenting an affidavit to the Justice of the Peace in Hawkins.

Sgt. Richardson obtained two arrest warrants in reference to a report filed by a home owner concerning a person who was trespassing on his property and stealing items from around the house. A game camera, placed by the property owner, captured multiple images of the suspect committing a burglary of the man's outbuilding. On February 27, the suspect was interviewed and confessed to the burglary and trespassing. The property stolen from the outbuilding was returned.

Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Mr. Kevin Lee Allen. Mr. Lee had been evading deputies for some time. Mr. Allen was located at a home north of Alba and arrested after attempting to hide inside the home. Multiple investigations are continuing in reference to Mr. Allen and others who have already been arrested.

Sgt. Carolyn Tanner closed a total of six cases and obtained an arrest warrant in a case involving an assault (family violence; impede breath/ strangulation).
