Lady Bulldog comeback falls short to Chapel Hill
The Quitman Lady Bulldogs fell to Chapel Hill 8-4 during spring break.
The Lady Bulldogs fell behind 6-0 in the first two innings but fought their way back with a pair of runs in the fourth and sixth innings to make the score 6-4. The Lady Devils came back with two more runs in the top of the seventh to secure the win.
Kennedi Elmore and Sophia Tannebaum each had two hits for Quitman. Allie Berry, Larkin Spears and Carley Spears also added a hit in the game. Carley Spears’ hit was a triple.
Elmore and Alexis O’Neal worked on the mound. Elmore struck out seven Red Devils and O’Neal struck out five for a total of 12, but the Lady Devils were still able to bang out 10 hits.
Quitman was at home Tuesday against Mineola and travels to Winona Friday.
