Lady Bulldogs fall to Lone Oak
The Quitman Lady Bulldogs fell to Lone Oak 72-30 in a district game on Jan. 15. Maddy Whitehurst led the Lady Bulldogs with 14 points.
Quitman fell behind early and never recovered. Lone Oak led 15-5 after one quarter and was up 34-12 at the half. Quitman had its best quarter of the night in the third period, holding Lone Oak to eight points while Whitehurst scored all six of Quitman’s points. Lone Oak erupted for 30 final quarter points leading to the 70-30 final.
Whitehurst led Quitman with 14 points followed by Ava Burroughs with six, and Lucy Brannon with four. Quitman went to Grand Saline on Tuesday and is home Friday night against Edgewood.
