Lady Bulldogs open softball season with ten victories out of 13 contests

The Quitman Lady Bulldog softball team has gotten off to a solid start of the 2022 season. The team is sitting at 10-3 coming off a solid performance at the Union Grove tournament where they went 4-1, losing only to the host Lady Lions.

Lady Bulldogs open softball season with ten victories out of 13 contests

The Quitman Lady Bulldog softball team has gotten off to a solid start of the 2022 season. The team is sitting at 10-3 coming off a solid performance at the Union Grove tournament where they went 4-1, losing only to the host Lady Lions.

The season got started on the right foot with an 11-4 win over Alba-Golden and a 17-1 romp over Kemp. In the Alba-Golden game Sophia Tannebaum had five runs batted in. Alexis O’Neal struck out 11 Lady Panthers. 

The Lady Bulldogs rocked Lady Panther pitching for 15 hits. Neither team had any errors.

Kenedi Elmore blasted a home run for Quitman in the fourth inning. Ashley Davis, Elmore, Larkin Spears, Tannebaum, O’Neal and Addison Marcee each had multiple hit games. 

In other games, Quitman defeated Kilgore 3-0 and Pittsburg 3-2 while losing to West Rusk 3-0, Athens 4-3 and Sabine 5-3. 

The Lady Bulldogs will be at home Friday for a District 13-3A contest with the Mt. Pleasant Chapel Hill Red Devils at 6 p.m.
