Transcanada offering grant funding to non-profit organizations in eighteen East Texas counties
TransCanada Pipelines USA is offering grants to East Texas Non-Profit Organizations through the TransCanada Charitable Fund at East Texas Communities Foundation. The TransCanada Charitable Fund makes grants in support of strong projects based on good ideas and compelling needs which have the potential to improve our communities and the lives of the people living in them. Funding is offered in the East Texas counties traversed by TransCanada pipeline operations and projects, which currently include Angelina, Chambers, Cherokee, Delta, Fannin, Franklin, Hardin, Harris, Hopkins, Jefferson, Lamar, Liberty, Nacogdoches, Polk, Rusk, Smith, Upshur and Wood Counties. Applicants must be taxexempt 501(c)(3) organizations or government entities. Services must be available to citizens of the community without regard to race or religion.
The TransCanada Charitable Fund encourages grant requests up to $5,000 for projects and programs in the following areas:
- Community - TransCanada is committed to building strong and vibrant communities. Eligible initiatives should bring communities together, develop leadership, and engage citizens.
- Safety - Trans- Canada is committed to the safety and well-being of the communities near our operations.
Eligible projects will enable emergency personnel to respond quickly and effectively to local needs and focus on emergency preparedness, accident prevention, and safety education and training.
- Environment - TransCanada is committed to protecting the environment. Eligible programs will conserve important habitat, protect species at risk, and educate the public about the importance of the environment.
